Problem being addressed
The current Australian Education Regulation 2013 will sunset on 1 October 2023.
Proposal
Proposal is to remake the Australian Education Regulation 2013 as the Australian Education Regulations 2023 with the following modernisations:
- Minor practical updates to publication dates and website links and minimal changes to reflect current legislative drafting practices.
- Transitional provisions to ensure continuity under the new Regulations.

Assessment comments
Consistent with the Government's Policy Impact Analysis requirements for sunsetting instruments, the Department has, after consultation with stakeholders, assessed the standards are operating effectively and efficiently. Therefore, an Impact Analysis is not required for the remaking of the standards.
Regulatory burden
No change in regulatory costs.
