Problem being addressed
The current OS-HELP Guidelines 2013 will sunset 1 October 2023 and needs to be remade.
Proposal
Amendments to the current content of the OS-HELP Guidelines 2013 are mainly to include additional procedural and administrative matters to the existing content. The Overseas Higher Education Loan Program (OS-HELP Guidelines) are made under section 238-10 of the Higher Education Support Act 2003 (HESA), which provides that the Minister may, by legislative instrument, make Guidelines.

Assessment comments
Consistent with the Government's Policy Impact Analysis requirements for sunsetting instruments, the Department has, after consultation with stakeholders, assessed the standards are operating effectively and efficiently. Therefore, an Impact Analysis is not required for the remaking of the standards.
Regulatory burden
No change in regulatory costs.
