Problem being addressed

The Telecommunication (Prohibition of Mobile Phone Boosters) Declaration 2011 is due to sunset 1 October 2021.  The Australian Communication and Media Authority (ACMA) assessed whether Declaration is operating effectively and efficiently and remain fit for purpose.  This includes whether it can be remade without significant amendment.

Proposal

Ms Linda Caruso, General Manager Communications Infrastructure Division of ACMA, has certified that the Telecommunication (Prohibition of Mobile Phone Boosters) Declaration 2011 is operating effectively and efficiently. This has been informed by a consultation process with select industry and stakeholder groups in 2021.   

The new instrument is the Telecommunications (Prohibition of Mobile Phone Boosters) Declaration 2021.
